Program Script: This week I want to discuss how to put your Web site on steroids. Oh, it’s perfectly legal. But it works so well and is so outlandishly simple to do, you’d think it was against the law. I use a method on my own sites that gets me very high rankings with all the search engines. Moreover, it helps me to make a great income with affiliate programs. I’ll tell you all about it after you hear this.

Program Script Continued: Ok. What is this powerful marketing method and how can you begin to implement it immediately? Well, I’ll tell you. Several years ago, I was looking for a sure-fire way to get a higher ranking in the search engines. I was also looking for a way to make more money with my affiliate programs.

 

I happened upon some information of RSS. What’s RSS. Well, you may already know. But, if not, it is Rich Site Summary. It’s a format for delivering regularly changing web content. Many news-related sites, weblogs and other online publishers syndicate their content as an RSS Feed to whoever wants it.

 

An RSS document is called a Web feed. The exciting thing about it is that you can easily find RSS feeds on any subject and incorporate them into your Web site or blog. And most of the feeds update minute by minute or by the hour or week --- some only monthly. I only use feed that update frequently. I’ll tell you why in a bit.

 

Why does RSS excite me and why does it help you to get a higher search engine ranking?

 

Sites and pages that are optimized around themes seem to be search engine food. The search engines love them.

For example, if your website is designed to sell golf bags and golfing equipment, your entire site content would focus on topics of interest to golfers.

You can easily find RSS feeds on any subject. Just do a google search. For example, I was looking for some godaddy feeds since I am a godaddy affiliate. Well, Godaddy actually offers several feeds. So, I put up a page at powerwriting.com/godaddy.com. I offer updated promo codes and other things of interest. That page is a real money-maker for me.

 

Did you know that many affiliate programs offer their own affiliate RSS feed? Well, they do. So each click could be a sale for you.

 

You do not have to write a single line of html code. You do not have to write copy or hire a copywriter like me to do these special pages. You do need to buy a really good RSS program and learn how to use it. Then, put that in your pages and watch the traffic come and your rankings grow.

 

Your content changes regularly and search engines love that. It brings new people to your site all the time. I have a site that is pure RSS and it gets lots of traffic. How can RSS improve your Search Engine Rankings?

There are several reasons search engines love RSS and you should too.

RSS is highly targeted. You select the material you want to publish. On my site I have RSS feeds that offer jobs for copywriters, for example. Since my site is a copywriting site, it attracts people looking for jobs as copywriters. Moreover, I’m an affiliate for several businesses that offer these jobs. So, when someone clicks on a job offer, I could easily get paid for it and often do.

Also, by adding these relevant keywords to your pages Google tags your site as a site with relevant content.

RSS Feeds Provide Fresh, Updated Content
RSS feed is updated frequently. So your page constantly changes. It’s always fresh and new --- never stale. Hutchesonreport.com changes minute by minute and I even have the page refreshed every few minutes.

RSS feeds get spidered more frequently than static pages. That means that your entire site is likely to be spidered a lot. That almost guarantees you a high ranking. And, any new pages you add will be picked up faster.

How does this benefit you as a marketer?

This gives you a major advantage over your competitors. But, you must be careful. There’s lots of RSS software out there. Most of it provides RSS feed using java. Don’t buy it! When you look at the source code, all you’ll see is an ugly java script. That’s all the search engines see too. That means, you get absolutely NO benefit from your beautiful RSS feed.
